The Milanese Style, without too many rules.

Myriam, Milanese by taste, and Cristina, a born-and-bred Milanese, tell the story of the city's style through the new Autumn/Winter 2026 collection from The Italian Collection. In their own unique way, of course.

We Milanese have a rather unique relationship with fashion: we follow it naturally, but we don't always hang on its every word. We love novelty, we are curious, we keep an eye on trends, and then we go our own way by choosing what to wear based primarily on our own instinct.

Because in Milan, dressing well does not necessarily mean being at the height of fashion, but rather 'using' it. In short, we deconstruct fashion by taking what we like and mixing it with what we already have in our wardrobe. And just like that, an outfit that truly reflects who we are is born.

Is it a question of intuitive sensitivity? Perhaps!

Then again, we live in a city where design, art, architecture, and culture are woven into everyday life, inevitably, shaping our sense of taste.

We observe, we absorb, we rework. But then our rational side kicks in.

Beautiful? Absolutely. High quality? Without question. But is it practical? That’s the ultimate deciding factor. Because in Milan, aesthetics must work in the real world, at any moment and without any fuss.

A beautiful jacket matched with say an essential pair of trousers, an unexpected accessory, an mélange of colours that on paper we could not have imagined.  Small liberties that make the simplest wardrobe pop in interesting ways.

And then there's something else: we don't always feel like starting from scratch each season. There’s a real joy in finding an old favourite in your wardrobe and breathing new life into it, maybe just by adding a fresh accessory.

Simple authenticity; not minimalism.

It is a way of choosing, combining, and changing your mind, without having to follow too many rules.

And it is precisely this language that, season after season, we try to refine with The Italian Collection. Because it's easy to talk about style. It’s a little harder to translate words into concrete choices.

We see this with striking clarity in the new Autumn/Winter 2026 collection: clean lines, understated femininity, and garments and accessories designed to live in, not just to be admired.

Like the Baby Alpaca or pure Cashmere knitwear, as soft as a caress. Or the hand-crocheted stoles, which carry a century-old tradition and add a warm note to your wardrobe.

And, speaking of the stoles, let’s think about how to wear them.

Worn over your coat when heading out. Then, once the coat comes off, kept draped over the shoulders, perhaps over a poplin shirt. They keep you warm while completely transforming the character of your outfit. There is no need to wait for a special occasion to wear them.

And then there are the accessories. Because, let’s face it, we Milanese are anything but “one-note”.  We love to change, play with combinations, and sometimes even contradict ourselves.

One day, we opt for the simplicity of earrings adorned with colourful beads, while on another day, we succumb to the allure of metal, for deep down, we all possess a touch of rock ’n’ roll in our souls. Then, there’s that romantic side that takes hold, perhaps through the charm of a necklace with a retro style.

We don’t have to choose once and for all who we want to be. We can simply dress according to our mood of the moment.

And what about bags? In leather or crochet, big or small, but always practical. As we well know, in a large bag, we carry half our house around. In a small one, on the other hand, just the essentials of that "half house”.

In conclusion, it is with this very spirit that we curate the pieces for The Italian Collection. We allow ourselves to be captivated by whatever catches our eye—strictly Made in Italy, of course—but then, the ultimate question always arises: 'Beautiful, yes, but would I actually wear it?' Yes, I will. And just like that, the piece earns its place in our collection.
