We seek bags in various sizes, prioritising practicality, functionality, timeless style, and easy mix-and-match with our existing wardrobe. The world of Italian bags undeniably serves as the ultimate inspiration for style and quality. During our visit to various artisans, including Marialena Mallone’s Mialuis—a contemporary designer based in Turin—we were captivated by her unwavering dedication to the art of leather craftsmanship.
Her creations are a visual delight: beautiful, elegant, soft, light, and available in thoughtfully designed shapes and dimensions that cater to every conceivable need. Each bag is meticulously crafted, built on carefully calculated proportions. The leather, incredibly soft to the touch, varies from smooth to irregular, achieved using laser and artisanal techniques that enhance its natural beauty. Every stitch is precise, every detail, and trim is beautifully finished, while the burnished metal hardware adds a subtle, non-intrusive special touch.
The interior of these bags is equally meticulously crafted, featuring intelligent slits and pockets that securely hold keys, keychains, smartphones, and all those items we can’t leave home without. Despite their surprising lightness, these bags offer generous storage space, perfect for those who tend to carry everything in their bag—except perhaps the “kitchen sink.”
We embarked on an exhilarating journey into the world of Lefaamilano, a brand founded by Daniela Uras who originally hails from Sardinia. Daniela’s passion for crocheting, a traditional craft, has transformed it into a unique creative language. In the heart of Milan, she continues to refine this ancient technique, crafting exquisite bags and totes with impeccable proportions. Each piece is meticulously hand-worked in a vibrant palette of colours, using precious Italian textiles.

Before making a final decision, we test the bags on ourselves. Myriam opts for a tailored suit, skirt, and jacket, while Cristina chooses a more casual look with an elegant coat and jeans. Instantly, we feel incredibly stylish and refined, as if we’ve been transformed. Their lightness, not just in terms of weight, but also in their visual presence, makes them perfect for any season, even during the summer.
